Mr Eazi is an African singer with Nigerian/Ghanaian heritage, he calls his style of music ‘Banku music‘.
Songs like Skin tight & Bankulize brought him to limelight last year (early 2016). Shortly after that he became affiliated with Wizkid’s Starboy International Label. The ‘Skin tight‘ crooner’s work ethic is evidently top notch and his voice is one of a kind- this is why he was featured on almost every major hit song on the Afro-beats scene as the year ran out.
He ended 2016 on a high note with a sold out concert in Lagos on the 21st of December.
He started the year with the release of his mix-tape #AccraToLagos while still dropping banging singles with accompanying videos and featuring on many songs. He didn’t stop there, he’s been traveling all over the world touring and performing at different venues.
Now he has just been unveiled as Apple’s #UpNext Artist of the month and performed at James Corden’s #TheLateLate show last night.
Is he the fastest rising Afro-beats star? YES I believe so, without a doubt.
No one has come into the Afro-beats scene and dominated Africa and the Global community in such a short period of time. In just over a year his growth spurt has doubled and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Wizkid, Davido & Tekno should definitely watch their backs!
Well done to Mr Eazi and his team!
