Wizkid just released his third studio album – Sounds from the other side. He likes to call it an EP but this is an album really. The songs are really from the other side. he mixed everything up while still maintaining that Afrobeat vibe and sticking to his African roots.
Read excerpts of the interview below: Where are you from and where are you based? I was born in Gambia but I grew up in the U.K Tell us about your journey into the world of modeling? At first I wasn’t into modeling I was more of a tomboy, into sports and enjoyed playing Rugby as I was living in Wales at the time. My modeling career started 3 years ago when I first cut my hair, which I had done to re-grow my hair naturally. I was walking one day on the street near my house when a lady was following me and yelling. When I stopped she asked me if I was a model and I replied no, she said I should be as I have a great look. From there she told me about herself – how she is a model and she later ventured into designing. She then told me she and her friends are having a fashion show and would love it if I could make it. After a couple of days I received a Facebook message from the lady with all the information for the show and rehearsals etc. At this point I had never done modeling or runway before so when it came to the rehearsals I was a bit scared, even though I had an idea of the basics as I always used to watch American Next Top Model. From that show I got discovered as a model and was part of a team called BlackAfroQueens which I was part of for about a year doing different things. In 2014 I did Manchester Fashion Week from this I got signed into an agency called PHA which is a modeling and casting agency based in Manchester and it’s been running for 25 years. Being with this agency has shaped my career as it opened a lot of doors for me, I get good jobs and they treat us like family. Would you describe yourself as an editorial, runway, commercial model or an all rounder? I’m definitely an all rounder What’s been your most memorable job till date?

Read excerpts of the interview below…. Tell us about your journey into the world of blogging… I started blogging in 2013 and it was my little way of escaping from all the school work i had (still is) and just expressing myself. It wasn’t anything serious and i never considered it as a brand per say, it was just one of those things i enjoyed doing as well as uploading dance videos on my then Youtube channel (Don’t check for this though, i removed them already lol) but somewhere along the line in 2015, i decided to re-brand as i had gained more knowledge on the world of blogging and how it could be so much more than what i saw it for and so i did. Moved ship to TOYINWITHFASHION.COM and there’s been no turning back from there since then. What brands have you worked with? I’ve worked with quite a few brands some of whom include, Dobblebees, Lash by GlamGirl, Esmadelle, The Zee Brand, Nineteenth Shoes, Aimanosi, etc. Looking forward to working with more What is the inspiration behind your personal sense of style? I believe my personal style is still evolving as so many things inspire me and some things i can’t afford right now -_- but most times it would be my personal state of mind, the climate and comfort . Who is your favorite fashion designer right now? I’m not really one to have a favorite because I love a lot of things or in this case, designers. However, Michael Cinco has always been one of my favorite designers and is still on that list. His designs are elegant and outstanding. I can recognize his creation anytime, it’s that unique. Describe your sense of style in 3 words. Comfortable, Edgy and Chic Name 3 fashion accessories that you cannot leave the house without… My wristwatch, rings and a neck piece. Apart from fashion, what are your other interests? Ohh there’s a long list of them. From Dancing to singing, hair styling, makeup and everything in the arts. Now I wonder why i never went to art class in secondary school Do you have a personal website? Yes i do, it is TOYINWITHFASHION.COM What are your future plans in the world of fashion blogging? To make toyinwithfashion a site to reckon with among fashion enthusiasts around the world.
Apart from fashion I’m interested in dancing to singing, hair styling, makeup and everything in the arts. Now I wonder why i never went to art class in secondary school.
